Yarnpainting is an art form and craft technique that is applied by the Huichol Indians from Mexico.
The main features are the colorful shapes and symbols that are shaped by yarn that is pressed into natural wax and that originate from an age-old tradition and cosmovision.
During this workshop you learn: some more about the culture of the Huichol Indians and how they weave their religion into their hand and art, technique yarn painting (which is not difficult at all) design your own yarn painting with a personal symbol, totem animal, mandala, or make a free and expressive work, you can also bring a (wooden) object such as frame, mirror, or wooden box and decorate with the technique.
